Definition
Kedging is a nautical method of moving a ship by taking a small anchor (a kedge) out in a boat, dropping it ahead, and then hauling the ship toward it, often when wind or tide prevents normal sailing.
केजिंग (kedging) एक नौसैनिक तरीका है जिसमें एक छोटा लंगर (kedge) नाव से आगे ले जाकर पानी में डाला जाता है और फिर रस्सी/केबल खींचकर जहाज़ को उस लंगर की ओर “खींचते” हुए आगे बढ़ाया जाता है, खासकर जब हवा या ज्वार के कारण सामान्य रूप से चलना संभव न हो।
