क्रिया “indict” (औपचारिक रूप से आरोप लगाना/अभियोग लगाना) से बना; मूलतः मध्य अंग्रेज़ी के माध्यम से एंग्लो-फ्रेंच/पुरानी फ़्रेंच और लैटिन “indictare” (घोषित करना, घोषित करना, आरोप लगाना) से व्युत्पन्न।
Definition
An indictor is someone (such as a prosecutor or accuser) who brings or initiates an indictment—i.e., a formal criminal charge—against another person; the word is uncommon and is largely replaced by terms like “prosecutor,” “accuser,” or “indicting authority.”
“इंडिक्टर” वह व्यक्ति होता है (जैसे अभियोजक या आरोप लगाने वाला) जो किसी के विरुद्ध “इंडाइटमेंट” अर्थात औपचारिक आपराधिक आरोप प्रस्तुत करता/करवाता है; यह शब्द कम प्रचलित/पुराना है और आज इसके स्थान पर “अभियोजक”, “आरोपकर्ता” या “अभियोग प्राधिकारी” जैसे शब्द अधिक उपयोग होते हैं।
