Incantations are spoken words, chants, or set phrases used in rituals—especially in magic, witchcraft, or religion—thought to bring about a desired effect (such as protection, healing, or a curse). In a broader sense, the word can also refer to any rhythmic, repetitive verbal formula used ceremonially.
