From impanel/empanel, from French ‘en/panel’ referring to a panel (list/roll) on which names were entered; later used especially for juries.
यह impanel/empanel से आया है; इसकी जड़ फ़्रेंच ‘en/panel’ से जुड़ी मानी जाती है, जहाँ ‘panel’ का अर्थ नामों की सूची/रोल था; बाद में इसका प्रयोग विशेषकर जूरी के नाम दर्ज करने/चुनने के अर्थ में होने लगा।

Impanelling means selecting/enrolling people (especially jurors) from a pool and officially listing their names on a panel for a court case.
