Definition
Impaction refers to the process or state of being pressed and packed tightly, forming a dense mass; in medical contexts it often means a hard, immovable mass such as fecal impaction, and in dentistry it refers to a tooth (commonly a wisdom tooth) that cannot erupt normally because something blocks it.
Impaction का अर्थ है ढीले पदार्थ का दबकर/ठूँसकर बहुत कसकर भर जाना और घनी-सी गांठ या पिंड बन जाना; चिकित्सा में यह अक्सर मल के सख़्त, अचल पिंड (fecal impaction) के लिए आता है, और दंत-चिकित्सा में उस दाँत के लिए जो रुकावट के कारण सामान्य रूप से बाहर (उदित) नहीं हो पाता (impacted tooth)।
