From Latin impactus (past participle of impingere “to drive against”), via Medieval/Neo-Latin and later English “impact”.
लैटिन impactus (impingere ‘के विरुद्ध धकेलना/टकराना’ का भूतकृदंत) से; मध्यकालीन/नव-लैटिन के माध्यम से अंग्रेज़ी में “impact” बना, और “impacted” उसका रूप है।
Definition
Used as the past form of “impact” meaning (1) hit or collide with something, (2) press or pack tightly, (3) affect or influence a situation, plan, or person, and (4) (literary) impress upon the mind. As an adjective, it can mean affected by an impact or (dentistry) a tooth that cannot erupt normally.
“impacted” ‘impact’ का भूतकाल/भूतकृदंत है: (1) टकराया/प्रहार किया, (2) दबाकर सघन/ठोस किया, (3) किसी चीज़ पर प्रभाव डाला/असर किया, और (4) (साहित्यिक) मन पर छाप छोड़ी। विशेषण के रूप में: टक्कर/आघात से प्रभावित, या (दंत-चिकित्सा) ऐसा दाँत जो सामान्य रूप से बाहर नहीं आ पाता (इम्पैक्टेड टूथ)।
