Definition
A homeland is the country (or sometimes a region) a person feels they belong to—often the place of birth, ancestry, long-term residence, or cultural identity. It can also mean the traditional territory of an ethnic group; in South African history, it referred to apartheid-era "homelands" (Bantustans).
