Definition
A headsail is a fore-and-aft sail carried at the front of a sailing vessel (ahead of the mainmast), such as a jib or genoa, mainly used to provide propulsion and assist with balance and steering.
हेडसेल (headsail) नौकायन जहाज़ की आगे की ओर (मुख्य मस्तूल से आगे) लगाई जाने वाली आगे-पीछे दिशा में तनी पाल होती है—जैसे जिब (jib) या जेनोआ (genoa)—जिसका उपयोग जहाज़ को आगे बढ़ाने के साथ-साथ संतुलन और दिशा-नियंत्रण में मदद के लिए किया जाता है।
