From head + lamp; recorded in modern English for a lamp mounted at the front of a vehicle and later also for a lamp worn on the head.
head (सिर/आगे का भाग) + lamp (दीपक/लैंप) से बना; आधुनिक अंग्रेज़ी में पहले वाहन के आगे लगे लैंप के लिए प्रचलित हुआ, बाद में सिर पर पहने जाने वाले लैंप के अर्थ में भी प्रयोग होने लगा।

A headlamp is a light designed to shine forward, especially the lamp(s) on the front of a car, motorcycle, or bicycle, or a portable lamp worn on the head for hands-free illumination (e.g., hiking, caving, repairs).
हेडलैम्प आगे की ओर प्रकाश डालने के लिए बनाया गया दीपक है—विशेषकर कार/मोटरसाइकिल/साइकिल के आगे लगा हुआ लैंप, या सिर पर पहना जाने वाला पोर्टेबल लैंप जो हाथों को मुक्त रखते हुए रोशनी देता है (जैसे ट्रेकिंग, गुफा-भ्रमण, मरम्मत)।
