Definition
A gaiter is a protective or insulating covering for the lower leg, often made of cloth, leather, or synthetic material, used by hikers, soldiers, or riders to keep out snow, mud, water, or debris; it can also refer to an ankle-high boot-like shoe (especially in older usage).
गेटर (gaiter) निचली टाँग (पिंडली) और कभी-कभी टखने या जूते के ऊपर पहना जाने वाला सुरक्षात्मक/गरम रखने वाला आवरण है, जो हाइकिंग, सेना या घुड़सवारी में बर्फ, कीचड़, पानी या कंकड़-धूल को अंदर जाने से रोकने के लिए कपड़े, चमड़े या कृत्रिम सामग्री से बनाया जाता है; पुराने प्रयोग में यह टखने तक आने वाले बूट-जैसे जूते के अर्थ में भी आता है।
