From Middle English forest, from Old French forest (later forêt), ultimately from Late Latin forestis (silva) meaning 'outside (wood/land), woodland outside a settlement.'
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी forest से, पुरानी फ़्रांसीसी forest (बाद में forêt) से; मूलतः उत्तर-लैटिन forestis (silva) से, अर्थ 'बस्ती के बाहर का (वन/क्षेत्र), बाहरी वनभूमि'।
Definition
A forest is a large natural area where many trees grow close together, along with plants, animals, and microorganisms, forming a complex ecosystem.
वन/जंगल एक बड़ा प्राकृतिक क्षेत्र है जहाँ बहुत से पेड़ पास-पास उगते हैं और उनके साथ पौधे, जानवर तथा सूक्ष्मजीव मिलकर एक जटिल पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र बनाते हैं।
