Definition
“Flatfoot” most commonly refers to the medical condition (often plural: flatfeet) where the foot’s arch is lowered so much that the sole makes broad contact with the ground; it can also mean a person with this condition, and in informal American usage it can mean a police officer. As a verb, it can mean to work or investigate by walking around on foot (and in some dialect uses, to clog-dance, to gulp a drink quickly, or to do something awkwardly).
