From the verb fathom (to measure depth; later to understand), from Old English fæthm (“outstretched arms; a measure”), with the suffix -able.

Definition
Something that is fathomable can be understood or worked out with reasonable effort; it is not beyond comprehension.
जो चीज़ समझ में आ सके या जिसका कारण/अर्थ समझाया जा सके, उसे fathomable कहते हैं; यानी वह समझ से परे नहीं होती।
