Definition
An espalier is a method and supporting structure for training a tree or shrub so its branches grow in a flat, two-dimensional pattern (often decorative and space-saving) along a wall, fence, or trellis; the word can also refer to the trained plant or a row of such plants, and as a verb it means to train a plant this way.
एस्पालियर (espalier) पेड़ या झाड़ी की शाखाओं को दीवार/बाड़/जाली के सहारे सपाट, दो-आयामी (अक्सर सजावटी और कम जगह लेने वाला) आकार में बढ़ाने की विधि और ढांचा है; यह शब्द ऐसे ढंग से तैयार किए गए पौधे या ऐसे पौधों की कतार के लिए भी आता है, और क्रिया के रूप में इसका अर्थ है पौधे को इसी तरह प्रशिक्षित करना।
