Definition
Ephraim is a name from the Hebrew Bible: Joseph’s younger son and the ancestor of the Tribe of Ephraim; by extension, “Ephraim” can refer to that tribe, its allotted region, or (in prophetic/poetic usage) the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
