Definition
The Eddas are two key Icelandic works— the Poetic Edda (a compilation of mythological and heroic poems) and the Prose Edda (a manual of poetry and myth, often linked to Snorri Sturluson). They preserve much of what is known about Norse gods (like Odin and Thor), heroes, and cosmology.
एद्दा दो प्रमुख आइसलैंडिक कृतियाँ हैं— काव्य एद्दा (पौराणिक व वीर-गाथात्मक कविताओं का संकलन) और गद्य एद्दा (काव्य-शास्त्र व मिथक का ग्रंथ, प्रायः स्नोरी स्टुर्लुसोन से संबद्ध)। इनमें नॉर्स देवताओं (जैसे ओडिन, थोर), नायकों और विश्व-रचना से संबंधित बहुत-सी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारियाँ सुरक्षित हैं।
