Definition
A documentary is a nonfiction film/program (or sometimes a book/article) that aims to inform or record reality using facts, interviews, archival material, and real footage; it may still involve the creator’s viewpoint. The word can also mean ‘documentary evidence’—evidence based on written/official documents.
