From Middle English “cripel/crepel”, related to Old Norse “krypplingr” and Germanic roots meaning “to creep/crouch”; later extended figuratively to mean “seriously weaken or disable.”
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी “cripel/crepel” से; पुरानी नॉर्स “krypplingr” और जर्मैनिक मूल (अर्थ: रेंगना/झुकना) से संबंधित; बाद में रूपक अर्थ में “किसी चीज़ को गंभीर रूप से कमजोर/अकार्य कर देना” के लिए भी प्रयोग होने लगा।

“Crippled” can describe someone who has been seriously physically disabled (often considered offensive; prefer “disabled person/person with a disability”), or something (plans, systems, economy, software) that has been badly damaged or made unable to work properly; as a verb, it means to disable or severely weaken.
