Definition
Crib-bite is a stereotypic (often stress-related) behavior in horses in which the horse grasps a fixed object (like a manger, fence rail, or stall door) with its incisors, flexes its neck, and pulls back—often drawing in air and making a grunting sound; it is also called (and often confused with) cribbing.
क्रिब-बाइट घोड़ों में दिखने वाला एक स्टीरियोटाइप/आदतन (अक्सर तनाव-संबंधी) व्यवहार है, जिसमें घोड़ा दाँतों (आगे के दाँत/इंसाइज़र) से किसी स्थिर वस्तु (जैसे नाँद, बाड़ की पट्टी, या अस्तबल का दरवाज़ा) को पकड़ता है, गर्दन मोड़कर पीछे की ओर खींचता है—अक्सर हवा भीतर खींचते हुए घुरघुराहट जैसी आवाज़ करता है; इसे “क्रिबिंग” भी कहा जाता है और कई बार उसी के साथ ग़लतफ़हमी हो जाती है।
