cold + blood + -ed से बना; पहले इसका शाब्दिक प्रयोग ऐसे जीवों के लिए हुआ जिनका तापमान वातावरण पर निर्भर रहता है, बाद में इसका रूपक अर्थ भावनाहीन/निर्दयी व्यवहार के लिए विकसित हुआ।
Definition
Cold-blooded describes (1) animals such as reptiles whose body temperature is not internally regulated and changes with the surroundings, and (2) a person or act that is cruel, unemotional, or without pity.
Cold-blooded का अर्थ (1) ऐसे जीव (जैसे सरीसृप) जिनके शरीर का तापमान भीतर से नियंत्रित नहीं होता और वातावरण के अनुसार बदलता है, और (2) ऐसा व्यक्ति/कार्य जो निर्दयी, भावनाहीन या दया-रहित हो।
