Variant of centigrade (now commonly called Celsius), ultimately from Latin centum ‘hundred’ + gradus ‘step/degree’.

Citigrade is a rare or nonstandard variant form sometimes used for centigrade/Celsius, referring to the metric temperature scale based on 0° (freezing) and 100° (boiling) of water at standard pressure.
