From Medieval Latin capitulatio (“a drawing up under headings, an agreement in articles”), from capitulum (“little head; chapter, heading”), from Latin caput (“head”).

Definition
Capitulation means the act of stopping resistance and surrendering—especially to an enemy or pressure—often after negotiating certain terms; it can also refer to the written agreement (the articles) that records those terms, or to a listing/summary of main points.
कैपिट्यूलेशन का अर्थ है विरोध करना बंद करके आत्मसमर्पण करना—विशेषकर शत्रु या दबाव के सामने—अक्सर कुछ शर्तों पर सहमति बनाकर; यह उन शर्तों को लिखित रूप में दर्ज करने वाले समझौता-पत्र/अनुच्छेदों को भी दर्शा सकता है, या किसी विषय के मुख्य बिंदुओं की सूची/संक्षेप को भी।
