Definition

A blastodisc is the disc-like cluster of dividing cells that forms at the animal pole on top of the yolk after fertilization; it is the region where cleavage occurs and where the embryo proper develops, especially in yolk-rich eggs.

ब्लास्टोडिस्क निषेचन के बाद अंडे की जर्दी (योल्क) के ऊपर (एनिमल पोल पर) बनने वाला विभाजित होती कोशिकाओं का चक्राकार/डिस्क-जैसा समूह है; विशेषकर अधिक योल्क वाले अंडों में यहीं विभाजन (cleavage) होता है और इसी भाग से वास्तविक भ्रूण विकसित होता है।
