A beta-blocker is a medication that blocks the effects of adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline on beta receptors, helping to lower heart rate and blood pressure and used for conditions like hypertension, angina, arrhythmias, heart failure, and sometimes anxiety or migraine prevention.
बीटा-ब्लॉकर ऐसी दवा है जो बीटा रिसेप्टर्स पर एड्रेनालिन (एपिनेफ्रिन) और नॉरएड्रेनालिन के प्रभाव को रोकती है; इससे हृदय की धड़कन और रक्तचाप कम होते हैं तथा हृदय पर काम का बोझ घटता है। इसे उच्च रक्तचाप, एंजाइना, अनियमित धड़कन (एरिद्मिया), हृदय-विफलता और कभी-कभी चिंता या माइग्रेन की रोकथाम में उपयोग किया जाता है।
