Definition
A berry is commonly understood as a small, soft, juicy fruit (e.g., strawberry, blueberry). In botany, a true berry is a fleshy fruit formed from a single ovary and typically contains multiple seeds (e.g., grapes, tomatoes). In some specialized or slang uses, it can also mean a coffee bean or fish eggs (roe).
