From Middle English via Old French arraignier/areigner, from Latin ad- (“to”) + rationare (“to call to account”), originally meaning “to bring before a tribunal.”
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी के माध्यम से पुरानी फ़्रांसीसी arraignier/areigner से; मूल लैटिन ad- ("की ओर/को") + rationare ("हिसाब माँगना/उत्तरदायी ठहराना") से, प्रारम्भिक अर्थ: "किसी को न्यायाधिकरण के सामने पेश करना"।
Definition
In criminal procedure, an arraignment is the court hearing where the defendant is formally told the charges and asked to plead (guilty, not guilty, or no contest); bail and future court dates may also be addressed.
आपराधिक प्रक्रिया में 'अरेंजमेंट/आरोप-पठन' वह अदालत की सुनवाई है जिसमें अभियुक्त को औपचारिक रूप से आरोप बताए/पढ़कर सुनाए जाते हैं और उससे अपना पक्ष/प्ली (दोषी, निर्दोष, या 'नो कॉन्टेस्ट') दर्ज करने को कहा जाता है; इसमें ज़मानत और आगे की तारीखें भी तय हो सकती हैं।
