From Greek arkhétypon ‘original pattern/model’, via Latin archetypum; formed from arkhē ‘beginning, origin’ + typos ‘impression, model’.
यूनानी arkhétypon (‘मूल प्रतिमान/आदर्श नमूना’) से, लैटिन archetypum के माध्यम से; arkhē (‘आरंभ/मूल’) + typos (‘छाप/रूप/मॉडल’) से बना।
Definition
An archetype is the original or most typical model of something—an ideal pattern that later examples copy. In psychology (Carl Jung), it also means an inherited universal image or pattern in the collective unconscious (e.g., the Hero, the Mother).
'आर्केटाइप' किसी चीज़ का मूल/सबसे प्रतिनिधि नमूना या आदर्श प्रतिमान होता है, जिसे देखकर बाद की चीज़ें बनाई या समझी जाती हैं। मनोविज्ञान (कार्ल युंग) में यह सामूहिक अचेतन में मौजूद विरासत में मिले सार्वभौमिक आदिम प्रतिरूप (जैसे नायक, माता) को भी कहते हैं।
