From Middle English standard(e) meaning a flag or rallying point, later 'an authoritative model'; from Old French estandart, of Germanic origin (related to 'stand').
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी standard(e) से, जिसका अर्थ पहले ध्वज/रैली-चिह्न था; बाद में 'अधिकारिक नमूना/मॉडल' के अर्थ में विकसित हुआ। यह पुरानी फ़्रांसीसी estandart से आया, जिसका मूल जर्मैनिक है (और 'stand' से संबंधित है)।
Definition
A standard is an accepted level of quality, a rule or measure used to judge things, or something commonly expected (e.g., standards of safety, a national standard, the standard model).
मानक वह स्वीकार्य गुणवत्ता-स्तर, नियम/मापदंड या तुलना के लिए उपयोग होने वाला आधार है, या कोई ऐसी बात जो सामान्य रूप से अपेक्षित/प्रचलित हो (जैसे सुरक्षा-मानक, राष्ट्रीय मानक, मानक मॉडल)।
