ब्राज़ीली पुर्तगाली araponga से; यह तुपी (ब्राज़ील की स्वदेशी भाषा-परिवार) के उन शब्दों से आया है जो बेलबर्ड/घंटी-चिड़िया के लिए प्रयुक्त होते थे।
Definition
Araponga refers chiefly to the bellbird of Brazil and nearby regions, famous for an extremely loud metallic call; by extension in Brazil it can also mean an instrument used in samba/batucada to imitate that sound.
अरापोंगा मुख्यतः ब्राज़ील और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में पाई जाने वाली बेलबर्ड (घंटी-चिड़िया) के लिए बोला जाता है, जो अपनी बेहद तेज़ धातुई-सी घंटी जैसी आवाज़ के लिए प्रसिद्ध है; ब्राज़ील में विस्तार से यह साम्बा/बाटुकाडा में उस ध्वनि की नकल करने वाले एक तालवाद्य के लिए भी प्रयुक्त होता है।
