From Greek analogos (“proportionate, according to ratio”), via Latin analogus and French analogue; later used in English for similarity and for continuous (non-digital) signal representation.
यूनानी analogos (“अनुपात के अनुसार/समानुपाती”) से, लैटिन analogus और फ़्रेंच analogue के माध्यम से; बाद में अंग्रेज़ी में ‘समकक्ष/समान’ अर्थ में और तकनीकी रूप से ‘सतत (डिजिटल नहीं) संकेत’ के अर्थ में प्रयोग विकसित हुआ।
Definition
An analogue is (1) a person or thing that is similar to another in some way, serving as a parallel or counterpart; and (2) in technology, a method of representing information with continuous signals (e.g., a needle on a dial) rather than discrete digital values.
एनालॉग (1) वह व्यक्ति या वस्तु है जो किसी अन्य से किसी तरह मिलती-जुलती हो और समानांतर/समकक्ष के रूप में देखी जा सके; और (2) तकनीक में, जानकारी को सतत (continuous) संकेतों से दर्शाने की विधि (जैसे डायल की सुई), न कि अलग-अलग डिजिटल मानों से।
