Definition
An alligator is a large, semi-aquatic reptile (notably the American alligator and the Chinese alligator) with strong jaws and sharp teeth; the word can also refer to jaw-like devices or long-nosed vehicles, and as a verb it means a coating cracks into a scaly pattern.
एलिगेटर एक बड़ा अर्ध-जलीय सरीसृप है (मुख्यतः अमेरिकी और चीनी एलिगेटर) जिसके शक्तिशाली जबड़े और नुकीले दाँत होते हैं; यह शब्द कुछ ‘जबड़े’ जैसे यंत्रों/उपकरणों या लंबे आगे वाले वाहनों के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है, और क्रिया के रूप में इसका अर्थ है कि पेंट/कोटिंग एलिगेटर की खाल जैसी दरारों के पैटर्न में फट जाए।
