Origin & History
From French aileron (“little wing”), diminutive of aile (“wing”), ultimately from Latin ala (“wing”); adopted in aviation terminology in the early 20th century.
फ्रेंच aileron (“छोटा पंख”) से, जो aile (“पंख”) का लघुरूप है; मूलतः लैटिन ala (“पंख”) से; 20वीं सदी की शुरुआत में विमानन शब्दावली में प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Ailerons are small hinged control surfaces near the outer trailing edge of an airplane’s wings; they move in opposite directions to roll the aircraft left or right by increasing lift on one wing and decreasing it on the other.
एइलरॉन विमान के पंखों के बाहरी पीछे वाले किनारे के पास लगे छोटे काजयुक्त नियंत्रण-पटल होते हैं; ये विपरीत दिशाओं में हिलकर एक पंख पर उठान (लिफ्ट) बढ़ाते और दूसरे पर घटाते हैं, जिससे विमान बाएँ या दाएँ रोल/बैंक करता है।
