গ্রিক ‘zōion’ (প্রাণী) + ‘-phile’ (ভালোবাসে/অনুরাগী) থেকে উদ্ভূত (নব্য লাতিন/আধুনিক বৈজ্ঞানিক পরিভাষা-গঠনের মাধ্যমে)।
Definition
A zoophile is most commonly someone who experiences sexual attraction to animals (a meaning often treated as synonymous with bestiality in many contexts); in a broader, non-sexual sense it can also mean an animal lover.
‘জুফাইল’ বলতে সাধারণত এমন ব্যক্তিকে বোঝায় যে প্রাণীদের প্রতি যৌন আকর্ষণ অনুভব করে (অনেক প্রসঙ্গে এটি ‘বেস্টিয়ালিটি/পশুকামিতা’-র সমার্থক হিসেবে ধরা হয়); তবে যৌন-অর্থ নয় এমন বিস্তৃত অর্থে এটি ‘প্রাণীপ্রেমী’কেও বোঝাতে পারে।
