Origin & History
From the verb “zoom” (early 20th century), originally imitative of a humming/whirring sound meaning “move quickly,” later extended to photography/filmmaking for variable-focus lenses (“zoom lens”), and in the 21st century to the Zoom brand for video calls.
“Zoom” ক্রিয়াটি (২০শ শতকের শুরু) মূলত শোঁ-শোঁ/গুংগুং ধরনের অনুকরণধ্বনি থেকে এসেছে, অর্থ ছিল “দ্রুত চলা/ছুটে যাওয়া”; পরে ফটোগ্রাফি/চলচ্চিত্রে পরিবর্তনশীল ফোকাস লেন্সের জন্য (“zoom lens”) অর্থ সম্প্রসারিত হয়; ২১শ শতকে Zoom ব্র্যান্ডের কারণে ভিডিও কল/মিটিংয়ের অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Definition
“Zoomed” is the past tense and past participle of “zoom.” It can mean (1) moved very fast (often with a whizzing sound), (2) increased or decreased the magnification of a camera/screen (zoomed in/out), or (3) attended/communicated via the Zoom app.
