From Middle English worship(p)en, from the noun worship (“honour, reverence”), ultimately from Old English weorðsċipe (“worthiness, honour”), from weorð (“worthy”) + -sċipe (“-ship”).
মধ্য ইংরেজি worship(p)en থেকে এসেছে, যা noun worship (“সম্মান, ভক্তিপূর্ণ শ্রদ্ধা”) থেকে গঠিত; এর মূল পুরাতন ইংরেজি weorðsċipe (“যোগ্যতা, সম্মান”), যেখানে weorð অর্থ “যোগ্য/সম্মানযোগ্য” এবং -sċipe অর্থ “-ship/অবস্থা/গুণ”।
Definition
Worshipping is the present participle/gerund of “worship.” It can mean (1) giving supreme respect to a deity through prayers/rituals, (2) loving or admiring someone excessively (idolizing), or (3) attending/participating in religious services.
