Origin & History
From Sanskrit Vaidika (‘pertaining to the Veda’), from Veda (‘knowledge, sacred lore’); entered English via scholarly use in the 18th–19th centuries.
সংস্কৃত ‘বৈদিক/বৈদিক’ (Vaidika, অর্থ ‘বেদের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কিত’) থেকে; ‘বেদ’ (Veda, অর্থ ‘জ্ঞান/পবিত্র বিদ্যা’) থেকে উদ্ভূত; ১৮–১৯ শতকে পণ্ডিত-মহলে ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে ইংরেজিতে প্রচলিত হয়।
