From vaso- (vessel) + constriction, ultimately from Latin vasum (“vessel”) and constringere (“to bind tight, compress”).
vaso- (রক্তনালি/নালি বোঝায়) + constriction (সংকোচন); মূলত লাতিন vasum (অর্থ: পাত্র/নালি) এবং constringere (অর্থ: শক্ত করে বাঁধা/চেপে ধরা) থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Vasoconstriction is the narrowing of blood vessels caused by contraction of the muscular wall of the vessels (especially arteries), which typically reduces blood flow to a region and can increase blood pressure.
ভাসোকনস্ট্রিকশন হলো রক্তনালির (বিশেষ করে ধমনি) দেয়ালের মসৃণ পেশি সংকুচিত হওয়ার ফলে রক্তনালির ব্যাস কমে যাওয়া; এতে সাধারণত কোনো অঞ্চলে রক্তপ্রবাহ কমে এবং রক্তচাপ বাড়তে পারে।
