Formed from under- (“insufficiently”) + stimulate (from Latin stimulare, “to spur, goad”). First recorded in modern English in the 20th century in psychology/education contexts.
under- (অর্থ: অপর্যাপ্তভাবে/কম) + stimulate (লাতিন stimulare ‘উদ্দীপিত করা/তাড়িত করা’) থেকে গঠিত। আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে ২০শ শতকে মনোবিজ্ঞান ও শিক্ষাবিষয়ক প্রেক্ষিতে শব্দটির ব্যবহার নথিভুক্ত।
Definition
To understimulate means to give someone or something less stimulation than is needed, so they may become bored, inattentive, inactive, or develop poorly.
Understimulate বলতে কাউকে বা কোনো কিছুকে প্রয়োজনের তুলনায় কম উদ্দীপনা (মানসিক/শারীরিক/ইন্দ্রিয়গত) দেওয়া বোঝায়, ফলে একঘেয়েমি, মনোযোগহীনতা, নিষ্ক্রিয়তা বা বিকাশে ঘাটতি দেখা দিতে পারে।
