tin + type থেকে গঠিত; পাতলা ধাতব পাতের (প্রায়ই ল্যাকার করা লোহার পাত, প্রচলিতভাবে ‘টিন’ বলা হত) ওপর তৈরি আলোকচিত্রের ধরন বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত; উনিশ শতকের মধ্যভাগে এই প্রক্রিয়া ব্যাপকভাবে প্রচলিত হয়।

A tintype is an old photographic process/popular photo format (especially in the 19th century) where the image is created on a thin metal plate (often lacquered iron, commonly called “tin”), producing a sturdy, long-lasting photograph.
টিনটাইপ হলো এক ধরনের পুরনো আলোকচিত্র প্রক্রিয়া/জনপ্রিয় ফটো-ফরম্যাট (বিশেষ করে ১৯শ শতকে), যেখানে ছবি পাতলা ধাতব পাতের (প্রায়ই বার্নিশ/ল্যাকার করা লোহার পাত, যাকে সাধারণভাবে ‘টিন’ বলা হত) ওপর তৈরি করা হয়—ফলে এটি টেকসই ও দীর্ঘস্থায়ী আলোকচিত্র হয়।
