From Greek stenos (“narrow”) + -graphy (“writing”), via modern formations referring to “narrow/condensed writing,” i.e., shorthand.
গ্রিক stenos (অর্থ “সংকীর্ণ/সঙ্কুচিত”) + -graphy (অর্থ “লেখন/লেখা”) থেকে আগত; আধুনিক গঠনে “সঙ্কুচিত/সংক্ষিপ্ত লেখা”—অর্থাৎ শর্টহ্যান্ড—বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত।
Definition
Stenography is the practice of writing down speech very quickly—often using special shorthand symbols—so that spoken words (for example in court, interviews, or meetings) can be recorded accurately and later typed or read.
স্টেনোগ্রাফি হলো খুব দ্রুত কথ্য ভাষা লিখে নেওয়ার পদ্ধতি—সাধারণত বিশেষ শর্টহ্যান্ড চিহ্ন ব্যবহার করে—যাতে আদালত, সাক্ষাৎকার বা বৈঠকের মতো জায়গায় বলা কথা নির্ভুলভাবে নথিবদ্ধ করা যায় এবং পরে পড়া বা টাইপ করা যায়।
