From the name of Reverend William Archibald Spooner (1844–1930), an Oxford don, who was popularly associated with such transpositions + -ism.
অক্সফোর্ডের অধ্যাপক/ধর্মযাজক রেভারেন্ড উইলিয়াম আর্চিবাল্ড স্পুনার (১৮৪৪–১৯৩০)-এর নাম থেকে; তাঁর সঙ্গে এ ধরনের ধ্বনি-অদলবদল কথার প্রচলিত যোগসূত্র ছিল, তার সঙ্গে -ism প্রত্যয় যুক্ত হয়ে শব্দটি গঠিত।
Definition
A spoonerism is a wordplay mistake (often humorous) where the starting sounds of two or more key words are transposed, e.g., saying "you have hissed all my mystery lectures" instead of "you have missed all my history lectures."
স্পুনারিজম হলো (প্রায়ই মজার) এক ধরনের শব্দখেলা/ভুল, যেখানে দুটি বা একাধিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শব্দের শুরুর ধ্বনি (সাধারণত ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি) অদলবদল হয়ে যায়; যেমন "you have hissed all my mystery lectures" বলা, যেখানে আসলে "you have missed all my history lectures" বোঝানো হয়।
