Definition
“Sophisticating” is the present participle of “sophisticate.” It can mean (1) making something more refined, complex, or worldly; (2) making someone/something less innocent or natural; (3) adulterating or making something impure (often to deceive); or (4) using sophistry—subtle, misleading arguments or vague wording—to distort meaning.
