From English sleeve (a covering for the arm of a garment), from Middle English sleve, from Old English slēfe; sleeving is formed with the suffix -ing to mean the action/process or material.
ইংরেজি sleeve (পোশাকের হাতার আবরণ) শব্দ থেকে এসেছে; এটি মধ্য ইংরেজি sleve ও প্রাচীন ইংরেজি slēfe থেকে উদ্ভূত। -ing প্রত্যয় যুক্ত হয়ে sleeving অর্থে ‘প্রক্রিয়া/কাজ’ বা ‘উপকরণ’ বোঝায়।
Definition
Sleeving is the process of applying a sleeve (a tubular covering) over a part—such as a wire, cable, hose, or mechanical component—to protect it from abrasion, heat, moisture, or to bundle and organize it.
Sle eving হলো কোনো অংশের—যেমন তার, কেবল, পাইপ/হোস বা যান্ত্রিক অংশের—উপর একটি ‘স্লিভ’ (নলাকার আবরণ) পরিয়ে দেওয়ার প্রক্রিয়া, যা ঘর্ষণ, তাপ, আর্দ্রতা থেকে সুরক্ষা দেয় বা একাধিক তারকে গুছিয়ে রাখতে সাহায্য করে।
