Definition

A shroud is (1) a large cloth used to wrap a dead body for burial, and (2) anything that covers, hides, or envelops something, often creating secrecy or darkness (e.g., a shroud of mist). As a verb, to shroud means to cover or conceal.

শাউড/শ্রাউড হলো (১) দাফন বা সমাধিস্থ করার আগে মৃতদেহ জড়ানোর বড় কাপড় (কাফন/কাফনের কাপড়), এবং (২) এমন যে-কোনো আবরণ যা কোনো কিছু ঢেকে, আড়াল করে বা চারদিক থেকে ঘিরে ফেলে—প্রায়ই কুয়াশা, অন্ধকার বা গোপনীয়তার ইঙ্গিতসহ (যেমন, কুয়াশার আবরণ)। ক্রিয়া হিসেবে shroud মানে ঢেকে রাখা বা আড়াল করা।
