From Sanskrit sattva (“being, essence; purity, goodness”), one of the three guṇas (sattva, rajas, tamas); formed with the adjectival suffix -ic in English.
সংস্কৃত ‘সত্ত্ব’ (অর্থ: অস্তিত্ব/সার; পবিত্রতা/গুণ) শব্দ থেকে উদ্ভূত; ভারতীয় দর্শনে তিন গুণ—সত্ত্ব, রজস, তমস—এর একটি। ইংরেজিতে বিশেষণ গঠনের -ic প্রত্যয় যুক্ত হয়ে ‘sattvic’ হয়েছে।

Relating to the quality (guṇa) of sattva, characterized by purity, harmony, balance, clarity of mind, and tranquility; often used for foods, habits, or practices believed to promote calmness and spiritual well-being.
সত্ত্ব গুণের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কিত—যার বৈশিষ্ট্য পবিত্রতা, সামঞ্জস্য, ভারসাম্য, মানসিক স্বচ্ছতা ও প্রশান্তি; অনেক হিন্দু/যোগ-পরম্পরায় খাবার, অভ্যাস বা অনুশীলনকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয় যা শান্তভাব ও আধ্যাত্মিক কল্যাণে সহায়ক বলে ধরা হয়।
