মধ্য ইংরেজি ও ফরাসি-উদ্ভূত “recount” থেকে এসেছে; এটি প্রাচীন ফরাসি conter (“গণনা/বলা”) শব্দ থেকে, সঙ্গে re- (“আবার”) উপসর্গ। অর্থ বিকাশে “আবার বলা/বর্ণনা করা” ও “আবার গণনা করা”—দুই অর্থই তৈরি হয়েছে।
Definition
“Recounting” means narrating or relating events in detail, often from memory; it can also mean counting again to verify a total (especially votes).
“Recounting” বলতে কোনো ঘটনা/কথা বিস্তারিতভাবে আবার বলা বা বর্ণনা করা বোঝায়; এছাড়া কোনো সংখ্যা/ফলাফল যাচাই করতে আবার গণনা করাকেও বোঝায় (বিশেষ করে ভোটের ক্ষেত্রে)।
