From the verb profane (to treat as not sacred), ultimately from Latin profanus (“outside the temple; unholy”), from pro- (“before, outside”) + fanum (“temple”).
ক্রিয়া ‘profane’ (পবিত্রকে অপবিত্র/অশ্রদ্ধাভরে扱া করা) থেকে; মূলত লাতিন ‘profanus’ (মন্দিরের বাইরে; অপবিত্র/অধার্মিক) থেকে এসেছে—pro- (আগে/বাইরে) + fanum (মন্দির)।
Definition
A profaner is someone who desecrates, defiles, or shows irreverence toward something regarded as holy, sacred, or worthy of respect (such as religious objects, places, rituals, or moral values).
‘প্রোফেনার’ হলো এমন ব্যক্তি যে পবিত্র/ধর্মীয় বা শ্রদ্ধেয় কোনো বস্তু, স্থান, আচার-অনুষ্ঠান বা মূল্যবোধকে অসম্মান করে, অপবিত্র করে বা অবমাননা করে।
