From Latin perforare (per- ‘through’ + forare ‘to bore/drill’), via Medieval Latin/Latin-based forms, later entering English as perforate.
লাতিন perforare থেকে এসেছে (per- অর্থ ‘ভেতর দিয়ে/মাধ্যমে’ + forare অর্থ ‘ছিদ্র/ড্রিল করা’); মধ্যযুগীয় লাতিন/লাতিন-ভিত্তিক রূপ হয়ে পরে ইংরেজিতে perforate হিসেবে প্রবেশ করে।
Definition
Perforates means to make holes through something or to pierce it; it can also mean creating a row/line of small holes in thin material (like paper) so it can be torn neatly along that line.
Perforates মানে কোনো কিছুকে ছিদ্র করা বা ভেদ করা; এছাড়া পাতলা বস্তুতে (যেমন কাগজে) সারিবদ্ধ ছোট ছোট ছিদ্রের রেখা তৈরি করা—যাতে সেই রেখা বরাবর সহজে ছিঁড়ে আলাদা করা যায়।
