Nonsegmental describes something that is not made up of separate, countable segments; in phonetics/phonology it refers to properties like stress, tone, and intonation that spread over syllables or whole words rather than belonging to a single consonant or vowel.
Nonsegmental বলতে এমন কিছুকে বোঝায় যা পৃথক, গণনাযোগ্য খণ্ড/সেগমেন্ট দিয়ে গঠিত নয়; ধ্বনিতত্ত্বে এটি জোর (stress), সুর/টোন (tone) এবং স্বরাঘাত/ইনটোনেশন (intonation)-এর মতো বৈশিষ্ট্য বোঝায়, যা একটি নির্দিষ্ট ব্যঞ্জন বা স্বরের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ না থেকে একাধিক অক্ষরাংশ বা পুরো শব্দজুড়ে বিস্তৃত থাকে।
