Definition
Noncolloid refers to matter that does not exist in a colloidal state, meaning its particles are not in the intermediate-size range characteristic of colloids and it does not show typical colloidal behavior (e.g., Tyndall effect or stable dispersion). It may be a true solution with molecularly dissolved solute or a coarse mixture where particles settle readily.
ননকলোয়েড বলতে এমন পদার্থ/ব্যবস্থাকে বোঝায় যা কলোয়েডীয় অবস্থায় থাকে না; অর্থাৎ কলোয়েডের বৈশিষ্ট্যপূর্ণ মধ্যবর্তী আকারের কণা-পরিসর ও কলোয়েডের সাধারণ আচরণ (যেমন টিন্ডাল প্রভাব বা স্থিতিশীল বিচ্ছুরণ) প্রদর্শন করে না। এটি হতে পারে প্রকৃত দ্রবণ (যেখানে দ্রব পদার্থ অণুস্তরে দ্রবীভূত) অথবা এমন স্থূল মিশ্রণ/সাসপেনশন যেখানে কণাগুলি সহজে তলিয়ে যায়।
